Environment, health & safety (EHS)

To ensure rigorous and consistent EHS programs are implemented across all operations, Broadwind Energy has developed an “EHS Framework” consisting of 18 elements, including more than 540 evaluation questions to serve as a tool that combines “how-to” information with a measurable output.

The EHS Framework's long ranging strategy is built around the widely recognized principles of the U.S. Occupational Safety & Health Administration's (OSHA) Voluntary Protection Program as well ISO 140001 and OSHAS 18001 registries.

To drive continuous improvement, each month, Broadwind Energy's chief executive officer and other top leaders review key indicators including EHS framework performance, injuries, lost time rates, environmental exceedances and penalties.
